Quick Howdy

I'm gone for a month and half (has it really been that long?!) and I end up with over 200 messages, 2200 deviations, and a handful of notes in my inbox! You guys are rocking the art scene.

And, I'm working, writing, and trying to get a small graphics biz off the ground so I've been out of the loop. Life is good, my friends, but busy! I do check in though and hopefully when life slows down a bit I'll be able to add in some art I've worked on. Until then, keep painting, writing, and making art!

Updated Journal Theme

So, I finally updated the journal skin. I'm grateful to *Khyoon for the beautiful design/code that I've had on display since last year. Since today was the first day of spring, I thought some spring cleaning is in order. Therefore, a brand new look. And I'm still updating stuff so excuse the mess while I poke around the next day or so.

I will still offer features but the images will be in the scrolling box at the end of the post from here on out. Check out some of the artwork from my Favorites!

NaNoEdMo and Other Things
So, I just started NaNoEdMo and am about 6 chapters into the rewrite of the whole damn thing. I've also got one other story that I need to edit but that will have to wait until the end of the month.

I'm currently working on some other portraiture, playing with light and what not. Those should be up within the next few weeks.

Other than that I am supremely busy with life and work. I'll be taking my 4 year old down to see a developmental pediatrician for evaluation in two weeks. We'll see how that goes. And the hubs and I are looking into buying a house. Yea us! Its thrilling and terrifying, considering the horrible economy. I've got a conference coming up in a couple of weeks to get ready for plus all the other things that keep me hopping at work.

Busy, busy, busy!

Vow Renewal

Yesterday, my husband and I renewed our wedding vows in front of God, our children, family, and friends. It was lovely and wonderful. I hope you all had as wonderful a Valentine's Day as we did!

1 Corinthians Chapter 13 - a scripture that speaks to both my husband and I for all the things we have been through and everything that we will do together in the future.

1 If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.

2 If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.

3 And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned, but do not have love, it profits me nothing.

4 Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, 5 does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, 6 does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth;

7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

8 Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away.

9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part; 10 but when the perfect comes, the partial will be done away.

11 When I was a child, I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things.

12 For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known.

13 But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Well, I finally made good on my word and uploaded a quick project, "The Emporer's Wife". Turned out pretty good all things considered. I'm also editing my NaNo novel and writing short stories as well. As a matter of fact, I've submitted one story to an online magazine. We'll see if they actually like it or not.
